The house is becoming a Zen-like shade of green. Our color choice in paint is having a tough time competing with that gorgeous sky.
We still have a long way to go before the house looks the way we are hoping it will. But the change in color is a great start.
Friday morning much to my surprise, our sea wall arrived...
and was carefully placed in our front yard.
We eagerly anticipated the start of the construction.
Bright and early this Monday morning a crew arrived while we were sitting outside enjoying our coffee and breakfast.
The wall has been carried piece by piece to the back yard.
The crew immediately started to work tearing out the boards in order to access the old sea wall.
I'm sure the white boards have something to do with the actual wall, but I have no clue.
As you can see, we are at the point of no return.
The reconstruction of the seawall will take about a week. Meanwhile, we plan to continue painting the front of the house and researching the best way to build a pergola.
I really want a pergola, something on the order of this one. Seriously Mi Miguel, how hard can it be to build a pergola?
In case you haven't read any of my previous blog posts, this is Mi Miguel. This is him with a new haircut and no facial hair. He is skedaddling off to work. I'm jealous and secretly loathe him for being able to escape the fixer upper for the day.
We purchased this shade of cream for the vestibule and shutters last evening.
I'm off to go see about copper paint for the guttering and downspouts.
Before I go, anyone know what this is that's growing on our current seawall?
