Before and After Guest Bedroom#2

A few years ago we couldn't decide whether to move to Indiana or Florida. We were thinking that remaining in the Midwest would be ideal. It would be like the twenty-eight years that we lived in the St. Louis area. Geographically, we were smack dab in the middle of the United States. Even though we felt close to every state, Indiana proved to be a really long commute to work. Not to mention the really harsh winters. The cold became a really big contributing factor to my Scleroderma (CREST) worsening in just two short years. Here we are now in the Sunshine State with an exceptionally short commute to work, no more harsh winters and due to the salty air and soothing ocean the symptoms of CREST are under control once again.
We are still amazed at how this sweet little fixer upper sort of fell into our hands. After staying in the house for a week or so I started visualizing the amazing things that could be done with this well thought out floor plan.

When we bought the house guest bedroom #2 looked like this as I cleared closets into this room.
We got the room down to the concrete and bare walls. And now the room looks like this...
with comfortable beds, new flooring, fresh paint and relaxing decor.
Total Cost:$616.14 (Beds,Linens,Flooring plus installation supplies,Pillows,Window Coverings,Paint plus painting supplies,Lighting,Wall decor and popcorn ceiling removal supplies)

Now with the completion of guest bedroom #2 we are ready to move on to the hallway. So far, we've torn out the original linen closet doorway, dry walled that all up and made a new doorway into the linen closet through the guest bathroom. All the carpet has been pulled up and the popcorn ceiling is now smooth.

We can now see through the guest bathroom into the hallway and into guest bedroom #1. Mi Miguel has already got the old doorway opening dry walled.
This fabric was tucked away in one of the closets. I love the vintage garden cottage feel that it holds. I'm not sure what year this remnant is from but it is my new inspiration for Guest Bedroom #1. While Mi Miguel gets the hallway ready for me to paint, I'll be pulling together my thoughts and gathering the goods for our next big room.
