Progress: One Month Later

This photo is one of many for my inspiration for the Italian villa ranch style house that we just purchased. Our fixer upper is not a beach cottage. But hopefully, when we get done with it. Our new home will have that same cool, comfy feel to it.
Nearly thirty days later from our move in date, the house is finally empty. All 70's and 80's decor is gone. There was so much to move out but with great team effort we all got it done.
I've got my ducks in a row and my folders ready to go for each room of our fixer-upper.

I did this folder system when we built our home in the St. Louis area years ago. Works really well for keeping track of paint colors, carpet/flooring and decor of each room.
Once we got the furniture removed from the master bedroom, I began rolling the carpet and padding up immediately. Yes folks, that is the original gold carpet that was put down when the house was built 30 years ago.
The second guest bedroom is rolled up leaving the floor down to the concrete as well.

The dumpster just arrived this morning. Let the remodeling begin.
The carpet is pulled up and dumpster ready. Now to remove all bedroom ceiling fans and smooth out the once trendy popcorn effect from the ceilings.
You can't tell it now but this piece of property has a lot of charm to it. I'm talking about the canal of course. It's what sold us on the house.

But, the house too is a dandy with a very functional floor plan. It's similar to the one in the photo above.
Mi Miguel and I are not afraid of hard work. It's what wakes us up each morning and it's what makes us sleep like a rock at night.
We are hoping to turn this sweet little house into a beautiful, functional, serviceable and guest friendly cottage style home. I can visualize it, can you?
